About Me
At the age of 27, following some months of debilitating joint pain, I was found to be HLA-B27 positive. HLAs are proteins found on the surface of white blood cell that help the body's immune system tell the difference between its own cells and foreign, harmful substances. A negative test is normal. A positive test means you have a greater-than-average risk of developing certain autoimmune disorders. The three most likely are Arthritis, Crohn’s and Uveitis.
I developed all three.
For more than 15 years after the diagnosis, I struggled with my health but kept an "I won't go down without a fight" attitude.
I moved from Ravenna my hometown in Italy, to London where I kept myself busy building a career in journalism and a family.
I was on medications but the pain was intense, ever present and absolutely exhausting.
Doctors had made clear since the start that there was no cure.
When the symptoms became unbearable and disabling, I decided to take my health into my own hands and started improving my diet and lifestyle. I experimented with natural therapies and tweaked my diet several times, while also improving my lifestyle, until I noticed that pain and inflammation were slowly easing.
Gradually I was able to wean myself off some medications.
I become eager to learn all I could about nutritional therapy and enrolled in Naturopathic Nutrition at the College of Naturopathic Medicine in London.

During the three years course, I studied the traditions of Oriental medicine and Western research-based nutrition, together with biology, anatomy, physiology, pathology and clinical diagnostic. By the time I graduated I was completely pain-free, symptoms-free and medications-free. My story may sound like an exception but it is not. I know countless people who are a living testimony of the incredible healing power of nature. As a therapist, my mission is to show you what a substantial difference the right nutrition and lifestyle can make to your life and to empower you to reach and maintain your health goals.
